ABOUT THIS SEMINAR
This seminar is for supervisors, managers, engineers, safety officers, technicians, foremen, members of JHSCs and all others responsible for safety of maintenance personnel in garages, carhouses, hangars, field airports, rail cars loading facilities, and shops, as well as for drivers of trucks (tarps); tanker trucks (contents and level checks), operators of heavy off-road vehicles and loaders (open-pit mines). Several alternative fall protection methods and related equipment will be discussed. Falls can't be eliminated as the gravity is with us to stay,however their consequences can and must be minimized.

The Seminar will be conducted in cooperation (reflected also on the Certificate) with the Canadian Standards Association at the CSA offices at 5060 Spectrum Way in Mississauga (10min from the Toronto International Airport). A shuttle will be available from the nearest hotels.
The seminar primary speaker, Andrew C. Sulowski, P.Eng.has been working continuously in fall protection for the past 31 years and is an internationally recognized expert in this field.
All participants will receive a manual, a set of CSA Z259 fall protection standards and Andrew's book "Fall Arrest Systems - Practical Essentials".

Fee: $1,995.00+GST- Super Early-bird discount of $250 if registered before December 15, 2008.

Refunds policy: full fee less $50 refunded if cancelled before February 1, 2009. No refunds after February 1, 2009 but a substitute participant will always be accepted.

- Applicable Canadian and American (OSHA) fall protection regulations.
- Refresher in Fall Protection (Shock load limits; fall distances; strength of anchorages; tool system versus safety systems.
- Typical fall protection equipment and systems.
- Special fall protection equipment and systems for buses, trucks, railcars, streetcars, aircraft (civilian and military), off-road vehicles. All of the above when worked on indoors and in field conditions.
- Do's and don'ts in fall arresting. Hazard Alerts.
- The post-fall rescue.
- Appropriate fall protection training for transport personnel.
- Company fall protection program.

Participants are advised to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott - Mississauga-Airport Corporate Centre West which is located at 5050 Creekbank Rd. in Mississauga. The hotel is a 10 minute drive from the airport and a 2 minute drive from the CSA training facility.
